What should be clear from the aforementioned portion is that this particular graduate program gives academic training chiefly in the fields of health and drug policy, health economics as well as pharmaceuticals. Along with this it also provides related academic courses health care administration, in outcomes research, research in pharmacy services, regulation, marketing, and pharmacoepidemiology.
This program offers students the chance to pursue education in advanced didactic and experiential education. These are all offered in the areas of
- Health policy
- Pharmacoeconomic and health policy analysis,
- Advanced biostatistics and database management
- Pharmacoepidemiologic methods and study designs,
- The role of pharmaceuticals and medical devices in health care and society.
- Behavioural interventions and their assessment.
This program course is oriented to equip its students with the knowledge, techniques and skills required to become successful professionals in the streams of government work; work in NGOs (non-government organizations); careers in consulting firms; professions in the settings of hospitals and other institutional healthcare organizations; teaching or research work in academic institutions among other organizations; numerous posts in managed care organizations; pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industry; international organizations; and pharmacy benefits management; contract research organizations.
The admission to the program is opened for all students including international students but there are certain specified admission requirements for the international students. The guidelines for the admission of international applicants from around the world are as follows:
- International applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in the following subjects - PharmD, pharmacy, health care, economics, business, or related field from their own accredited university or college;
- The degree must be accompanied by a minimum overall 3.0 grade point average or GPA on a 4.0 scale;
- The student must also possess relevant research experience, published work in related fields, or be gainfully employed.
- In terms of GRE (Graduate Record Examination/General Test) scores the applicant must have scored in the 70th percentile or better in each section.
- Those international applicants whose first language is not English it is essential for them to provide an official minimum test score of TOEFL of 79 for the Internet-based test or in respect to the IELTS the individual must have scored a minimum of 6.5.
- These requirements i.e. the score requirements for TOEFL or IELTS may be exempted for an individual applicant who have gained all four years of high school education in the United States (exclusive of ESL courses), and it can also be waived for those who have scored 450 or better on the critical reading section of their SAT examinations.
