Find the surface area and volume of a hemisphere made of stone and radius 10 cm.

Solution: Total surface area = surface area of spherical portion + area of circular portion

= 1/2 x 4 Π r² + Π r² = 3 Π r²

= 3 x 3.14 x 10 x 10 cm = 942 cm²

Volume of the hemisphere = 1/2 x 4/3 Π r³ = 2/3 x 3.14 x 10³ = 2093.3 cm³
