Number Problem 8
From Homeworkwiki
The sum of three consecutive integers is –12. Find the three integer?
Solution: Let the three consecutive integers be (n-1), n, (n+1).
Given, (n-1) + n + (n+1) = -12
Therefore, 3n = -12
Dividing both sides of the equality by 3, we get
3n/3 = -12/3
Implies, n = -4
Hence, the three integers are (-4 - 1), (-4) and (-4+1)
i.e., -5, -4 and -3.
