Trigonometry-27
From Homeworkwiki
A man sitting in an aeroplane observes that the angles of depression of two towers 2 km apart are 600.
If the place is exactly above the middle point of the line joining the towers, calculate its height.
Solution: A and B represent towers and P the aeroplane
PM / AM = tan 600
=> PM / 1 = tan 600
=> PM = 1 X tan 600 = √3
Hence the place is at a height of √3 km
