Trigonometry-9
From Homeworkwiki
An aircraft climbs at an angle of 300 at a speed of 500 meters per second.
How long will it take to reach a height of 15000 meters?
Solution: Height ascended by the aircraft = BC = 15000 m.
Sin A = Sin 300 = 15000 / AC
i.e. 1/2 = 15000 / AC
Therefore, AC = 2 X 15000 = 30,000 m
The aircraft travels 500 m in 1 second. Hence to travel, it takes
30,000 / 500 = 60 seconds
